13 days until I go home...

Can not freaking wait.

Have no money for Christmas presents. I have my BFs sorted, I have half my parents kinda sorted, I need to buy my sisters, and my future brother in laws, and an online SS (which needs to be posted soon, shit) and eurgh. I just don't care this year tbh. It's just effort. And my Dad won't be here on Christmas day, which upsets me.

Bored. Of life. Of everything.

Feel like some thinspo.

New beginnings

New year right? A bit late but it's ok.

I've started training for a 5k run, using the couch to 5k program. Did my first run last night and I enjoyed it, but got a bit bored running around and around a football pitch... so tomorrow night I think I might go run somewhere else. Trouble is I'm trying to keep it relatively flat to begin with (once I've done all the 9 weeks I plan to do it again but using a very hilly route) and living in North Wales, this is difficult. To put it into context - I live at the bottom of a hill. To the right of my house, is another hill. Behind my house, is a third hill. It's kinda in a valley I guess. But running straight along the main roads leads to... yes... another hill. Random brainwave... I could run along the main road to where it starts to climb, turn around and run back the rest of the way. Following the commands ofc. Yeah, that'll do.

Had one exam yesterday, which went ok I think considering it's a module I have been in 4 out of 12 lectures. We had 4 short answer questions (SAQs), and two of them I smashed through and am relatively happy with - the first one I mucked up a little and it's really annoying me but the second one was spot on I reckon. Even threw in a little bit of extra at the end to make it look like I'd done loads of reading ;) The other two SAQs were from the hardest lectures I've ever seen and so I knew that I wouldn't do massively well at them, but I made a guess and I think I might have picked up a point or two here and there in them. The multiple choice (MCQs) section wasn't too bad, some 'could be this, could be that' questions but on the whole I think I got about half right. Which leads me with some hope of passing, yay! If I don't pass it, I think I have to retake it in June... PITA.

Tomorrow I have a stats final, not looking forward to that but it should be one of the easier exams as we're allowed a crib sheet and she's given us 10 of the 50 MCQs beforehand. So I'm not massively worried about that.

However on Thursday I have a 2 hour neurobiology exam and I am shitting it. I'll have roughly 24 hours to learn and revise 12 hours worth of content; doesn't sound much but this stuff is so so complicated to understand. It's both MCQ and SAQ, and I'm not looking forward to it at all.

Next Thursday is my last final, in social psychology, which I'm currently averaging a low A-/A in; and the module I'm most confident in. So much so that I'm planning to do most of my revision on Saturday and then I'm off to my boyfriends until Wednesday evening. I have to plan an essay for it which will take me a day I reckon, and then learn the plan, and then make sure I know all the content. Shouldn't be too hard.

Food wise has been a bit ridiculous recently. Yesterday's out put for MFP:

*You've earned 254 extra calories from exercise today

Today is still unknown, I'm at about 600 with dinner still left to eat and I'm a bit worried. I don't know. It feels recently that this whole thing has got a tighter grip on me than it ever has before. Maybe it's the stress? Idk. No time for exercise today :(

Bleh

Massively over used title. Do I care? No, I'm a rebel see.

Cut yesterday. Bad me.

I have no idea what to do or where to go.

Who to talk to. Where to turn.

1) Doctor... effort and pointless as I'm out of here for a month next week
2) Counselling... similar. Been referred since October but haven't been yet
3) BF... not fair on him
4) Parents/family/friends... just no
5) The internet... a rather empty solution

Sigh.

Fear, loathing and self hatred

So... I've been mainly hanging out on tumblr for the last few months. Hiding from the world under a completely new internet identity. I'm so rad that I don't even use proper grammar on tumblr, so I look younger and can't be linked to me (as I am a total grammar nazi in real life). Strange logic but logic none the less. I always think someone's going to recognise me off this blog because of my writing style... crazy, eh?

Despite spending most of November in bed (depressive episodes suck arse) I've managed to haul myself to my boyfriends for a few days. Was meant to be back at uni today but I couldn't face it and I cried so he's letting me stay until tomorrow. Yeah. Cutting and not eating and sleeping 16 hours a day = one failed assignment, one looming soon to be failed assignment, no friends, no motivation, no life, no happy Merla... sadface. I dunno. I'm only back at uni when I go back tomorrow until next Saturday (17th) but it feels like a lifetime. Even though it also feels like yesterday when I took my midterm exams, which were four weeks ago Thursday. So far this year I've got grades wise: A, C, C-, D+, D-. With one exam and two assignments left to get back (two assignments due in Thursday, one finished one needing an extension). Last exam to get back is in my best module and should be at least a B... Hopefully. Wrote a stonking essay in it, but the MCQs might let me down.

The D- should have been a B. But it was handed in a week late with no extension and got capped at a D-. Overall for that module I'm averaging a D+ (45%). A low pass. The A is in my best module and as I said, I'm hoping for Bs upwards in that with one assignment to hand in and my exam to get back. Should be ok I think. However, one module being at a B+ and the rest being at low Cs or Ds is not going to get me very far. If anything, it's going to make things look worse - I can't even fail properly.

Life is not going well for me. I basically live alone, in a 5 bedroom house. Apart from my boyfriend and parents, I don't speak to anyone outside of the rare times I struggle in to lectures or go to cheer practice. It's a very lonely existence and I'm convinced if I keeled over tomorrow in my room at uni because of a heart attack no-one would notice for a good month. Occasionally I run (for some reason, I've said I'll run a half marathon in summer. I'm fucking crazy and shitting myself about it already, especially as my running buddy is very skinny and very fit already) but more often than not I blow my running buddy off saying that I'm too tired (impossible when I've been sleeping all day) or I have work to do (stupid when I don't do it anyway). I had a few friends from my course last year but this year it's dwindled to one girl who I'm fairly certain won't bother with me after Christmas.

Food wise it's been rocky. I'm not ashamed to admit any more that I'm consumed by calories and fat content and portion sizes. On the rare occasions that I eat 'normally' it's junk food and it's only because someone else is there. My boyfriend is great for this, when he's around everything is perfect and fine, I can do my uni work, I can go out and socialise, I can eat whatever I want and I don't even question it. When he's not I fall to pieces. But what's the solution? I can't move in with him, and he can't move in with me. My uni town is tiny, shit and a horrible place to live. His town is too far to commute and whilst it has a uni, it's a very prestigious one and there's noway I'd even be allowed on campus let alone to study there.

I'm trying hard to tone up/lose weight healthily/not cut but it's not working. I've been far worse depression wise but it was a different kind of depression. Then it was an active self hatred, fear of the world, loathing of everything in it. Now it's just... ambivalence and acceptance that my life is shit and will remain so for the next two years at least. I'd like to just disappear into the background. There's nowhere I can go from here... fail uni, and I'm a drop out two times. I look like an idiot who can't cope when things get a bit tough. Plus I really really want to finish this course. Like so much. I enjoy some of it, as the A and (should've been) B show I am not terrible at it, I'm just struggling right now. But I can't repeat a year as I won't get finance. Maybe if I'm asked to I should just cough up the money for the extra year myself. But I don't want to spend a week in my uni town right now, let alone another year on top of what I have to.

Weight? I honestly don't know. Was 66.6kgs on the scales Saturday at the GP BUT I was fully clothed, wearing a hoody, two tops, heavy jeans, big winter boots. So maybe like 64kgs? My housemate has some electronic scales but I don't know if I trust them. One day they'll read me at 138lbs and then the next I'll bounce up to 146lbs even though in the 16 hours between weighing I'll have gone to gymnastics and only eaten about 700 calories. I don't know. The doctor keeps asking me if I'm eating properly, to which I of course reply yes, after all if I said no, actually I eat when I'm forced to by people on the internet or when something is going out of date and even then I only eat half of it she'd look at me like I was crazy. Well, I am crazy.

My sister is getting married in summer of 2013. So I'm hoping to get to my UGW (118lbs) before summer this year so I can maintain and when I go dress fitting/to the wedding itself people won't bother me with the 'Oh you're so skinny!' lying bull crap my family like to pull.

I don't know what I want to achieve any more. It used to be get a degree, do a postgrad, get a good job, house, husband, car, dog, kids. Now it's get to Christmas without breaking down.

So, to summarise, I'm essentially living alone, I have no friends, I see my boyfriend once a month if that, I'm failing uni and I don't eat when I'm not with people. Which is 90% of the time. But I'm still fat. Go figure. I hate life.

Meh

ABC diet is... ok. I'm kinda picking and choosing what days I do and what days I don't - I can't really fast atm because of cheer and gymnastics. Thought I was going to die this morning traipsing up the hills to uni, was so pleased when I go to class and my TA produced a packet of cookies; I honestly think I would've just died if I hadn't eaten something. Especially as I'm very sleep deprived right now. No more than 5 hours a night :(

Did a sneaky weigh in this morning. 137.6lbs. YAY! Then I thought, wait, I like to double check with another measurement, preferably in a different scale, y'know? So hopped back on with the scales set to kilos and I weighed in at... 66.6kgs. That's 146lbs. Wait, what?!

So I'm gonna have to weigh again about three times tomorrow. Bleh. Not good, given that today I've eaten lots of biscuits and my dinner was a lovely carb filled noodles and toast...

Still can't find  my camera USB port thing so no pictures yet, still taking them for you all though so when I get it I'll post them :)

Rescued some old pictures...

January 2010

February 2010

March 2010

 April 2010

 May 2010

June 2010

And then I stopped taking pictures... Worth noting that in June 2010, my friend died and I went through my first break up... result = 10lbs weight loss in 5 days. Unfortunately that lasted about a week.

I dunno what the point of this post is. All I know is Andy's gone, I move into a house on my own in a day and a half and my new flatmates don't speak English. I keep thinking that I have no friends at uni (which is a lie, as I *do*) and I'm going to fail. I want a hug.

No internet from Monday to Friday... Though I will try to write a thinspo post to schedule to automatically post on Thursday if I can before I go. Found my old thinspo folder!

Storytime

There once was a girl and a boy. They fell madly in love and soon began to spend every day together. When they were parted, they felt nothing but sadness. They laughed and smiled and played, and loved and lived. They were happy and others were jealous of their relationship. But soon, the boy began to tire of his princess and wished to leave the happy home they had. He tried to run without breaking her heart but she followed his every step, not wanting to be away from her prince. He tried to think on his own but found her in every thought he had.

Unwilling to upset his beloved, he carried on with his life in the little home they had together. He laughed and smiled and played, but no longer loved and lived. He merely existed. Though his princess had realised something had changed within him she was too consumed with her own pain to notice his. Eventually he could not stand to live a life in captivity with her any more and so one night, he told his princess that he didn't love her any more.

The princess stood and cried in disbelief that her handsome prince no longer wanted her. She begged and pleaded with him, and promised to be better. She gave up her habits for him and wished to only please him. She could not bear to see him slip through her fingers like so many others in her life had done. They argued and shouted and cried together, and neither loved or lived for a while. They called each other names; lazy, selfish, fat, arrogant, bitch, c**t. Yet neither meant a word of it... Both carried their own pains and the others for so long, it was a struggle to go on.  Both wished for a better life, yet had no means with which to make it. Both felt hopeless and alone. Yet they had each other.

Maybe.

I don't know how this ends and it's killing me. I don't think I've felt so much pain before. I don't want to lose him.

So unfit

I went swimming today for the first time in ages. To begin with, I stood in the changing room thinking 'Do I really want to go out there with a nearly naked body, given that I'm flabby and scarred?' but eventually I pushed myself and got out there. Not much to some but given that last time I went swimming, I was smaller, more toned and only had a few scars that you could only really see if you were right up close it was a big step.

Anyway, I got in. And man, it was cold! Lovely on my sunburnt back though. Took a few minutes to just enjoy the water on my skin again - I love swimming, it's always my exercise of choice. I managed about two lengths until I started spluttering and dying. In the end after 20 minutes of pure hell I gave up and resigned myself to a life of fatness and coronary heart disease.

So I went to a pub, drank a shit load, ate nachos and came home feeling fat.

I'm currently wrestling with the code for my cheerleading squads new webpage. Why did I volunteer for this again?!

ERP

I have an 'emergency response plan' for when I get really depressed, I was made to write it last summer when I was at an outpatient day centre thing. I need to dig it out and read what to do when I feel like shit all the time and am sleeping for 14 hours a day. Because that's not cool. And that makes me miss work. Which makes me jobless. Which makes me poor. Sadness.

I'll apologise for the lack of decent posts recently again. Just... meh. All I want to do is sleep and eat and most of the time, eating wins out.

Massive life fail atm.

Blah blah blah

Few random/small blog changes made. I really hate the theme/banner/colours of it atm but I have too many other things to stress about rather than an internet blog (hehe, that makes it sound like I actually care about this blog. Not at all. *Ninjas off to the side looking mournfully at the crappy looking blog*) such as resits and essays and weight and my overwhelming desire to consume Andy's body weight (230lbs) in all kinds of crap. Wooo massive run on sentence!

I really miss cheerleading.

And I really, really want to go travelling. Go and spend the last two months of my holiday in Germany/Holland/Luxembourg/Scandinavia and just live my life. Unfortunately I have a) two exams and an essay due by the 26th of August that I HAVE to pass or I'll get chucked off my uni course, b) no money and c) a job that requires me to work what they tell me to work. We're planning to go away for a few days after my resits and before I go back to uni but it's going to be like... 3 days at the most. Andy wants to go to Amsterdam and spend the three days stoned off his face; something I'm not against (he introduced me to the green stuff a month or so ago and I'm pretty chilled on the idea; it just doesn't seem to work on me) but something that just seems... Pointless to me. When I go on holiday I like to see the local area, go off the beaten track and get lost in a big city, try to speak the language and make a fool of myself when I get it wrong. I love feeling like a tiny speck of insignificance, that feeling you only really get when you're somewhere foreign and strange to you. In Britain, in London, even though it's massive, it's feasible for me to meet someone I know - I have friends (and people I hate!) at uni there, I have family around there, even in cities I've never visited I have 'connections' to people and places. Y'know? Rambling but hey.

Anyway.

I also want to redesign my room a bit... It's tiny and a boring shell colour on the walls. Hopefully I'm going to get a new wardrobe and/or some better storage but it needs a massive overhaul. I thought about painting on the walls or writing mottos or something but that seems a bit too... 15 yr old girl to me? Answers on a postcard please.

100 posts

I wish it was a more positive one.

My uni results:

"You will shortly receive a letter detailing your progression options."

Ominous, no? I failed two core modules (by 3 and 4%, respectively) and a 20 credit module. By 13%. Unacceptable.

The options are; AFAIK -
1) Leave university.
2) Resit year 1.
3) Resit those three modules alongside my year 2 work.
4) Resit those modules/take a 'make up' test in August.

1) and 2) would break my heart. In the UK, you can only get 4 years of funding for a university course; unless you're doing dentistry, medicine, vet medicine or architecture. Technically, I'm on my 2nd year of funding due to going to uni in 2008 and dropping out. I would not get funding for a resit year and I can't afford to pay myself through. 3) would be hard work, and unlikely. 4) is what I have my fingers crossed for.

Girls, word of advice. If you go to uni, work hard. Don't get pregnant. Don't lay under your duvet in the mornings because the 10 minute walk to your test is just too long. Don't get complacent. Stay on top of your work, and revise hard. Don't be me.

Lactose intolerance?

Last night I ate a shiteload of dairy on a bit of a binge - pepperoni pizza, stuffed crust, with extra cheese, a mug of milk, chocolate biscuits AND some yoghurt. So yeah, pretty much everything I ate was dairy orientated. I spent the night with awful stomach cramps and feeling so ill :( The only thing I can conclude is, since I felt ok this morning, it's something to do with the dairy.

I've been trying to keep dairy free today but most things I eat have it in there somewhere :S Is anyone lactose intolerant? What do you do about hot drinks?! And cheese? I love cheese. I can NOT live without cheese!

Worth noting as well that I've just been eating complete crap over the last fortnight. Feeeeeel like a pig :yy:

My life never runs smoothly...

Eurgh. Argh. Fuck it all. I hate this :(

My day yesterday...

Got up after three hours sleep. Felt so ill on the train from low blood sugar due to not eating day before. Had to break fast to avoid throwing up stomach bile. Stuffed face with sugar.

Looking at houses started well, hit a peak and then crashed magnificently. First house was amazing, I really want it. But I won't find out until next week. Second house was nice but realistically, I'm never going to walk 45 minutes straight to go to cheerleading in the middle of winter so it's kinda out... Third was a fucking slum. No point me even looking. Stuffed face with a steak dinner.

Went to see X-Men. Stuffed face with food. Got depressed when told that first house is going to wait til next week to decide on who they want and that second house needs a reply by (today). Sulked a little. Has a massive, fuck off, pretty sure everyone who still lived here in Wales could hear, argument with Andy. Got told I'm selfish and the reason I'm fat is that I don't do anything, I'm lazy and I'm horrible to live with. Echoes of what my mum shouts at me in an argument (guess they must be true then?) Spend the night crying whilst shouting abuse at him before we curl up together exhausted and promising that we love each other. Not sure.

Wake up. Stuff face with food. Cry over housing situation. Cry over job situation - working tomorrow night with my ex for 12 FUCKING hours. Cry over fat situation whilst drinking another full fat milkshake. Cry over uselessness. Want for a hug but Andy is still asleep. Cry a little over that.

And I probably find out if I am still a uni student tonight after a three hour train journey. I better drink more, there will be tears...

Freewheeling

All I do is eat and eat and mope at the moment. I could blame it on the monthly, but tbh that's weak. I need to get my arse in gear and start exercising and eating better again. I look in the mirror and see a fucking hulking, fat, flabby body that's going to just get bigger if I don't do anything soon.

Wanna know my story?

Long arse post again! Next post I PROMISE will be a thinspo post. Swear.

Wrote this up for a depression guide on a forum that I use, to help others who are suffering. It's just my history of depression and life over the last 5 years, really.

I’ve struggled with depression since I was 16. Looking back, I can see that it probably started a lot earlier, but the first time I was aware of it was when I had a massive argument with my parents. I was so frustrated and angry the only thing that I could think of to do to calm myself down was scratching my arm with a pin. The mood swings were blamed on hormones and being a teenager, but now I recognise that they were probably the result of a mild depression.

I moved through the next two years occasionally harming myself superficially, but generally managing – even though I was rarely motivated to do my A level work or to take care of myself, being overweight and rarely bothering to shower or even brush my hair before school. I failed my A levels but got offered a place at university to study a subject that I just wasn’t interested in. Not wanting to lose face and admit that I was unsure about what to do with my university place, I took it and lived at the university for 5 months. It soon became apparent that university would only exacerbate my personality disorder. In halls I had no stability and quickly fell out with my flatmates, stopped eating properly (I lost nearly a stone and a half between September and Christmas) and was ill all the time. Self-harming was no longer a tool of frustration, it was an addiction and I was cutting every day. I started to think that I would be better off dead, as it would be less hassle. When I came home at Christmas I told my parents I could no longer carry on there but they persuaded me to try a few more months to see if it was just homesickness. I called them at the end of January and told them I was coming home, whether they liked it or not, and in February I left university.

When I got back home, for a while I was ok. I was back with my friends, my family and I felt secure. The self-harming cycle I was gripped in at university was broken and I was starting to think about my future. I got a job in a hospital as an health care assistant which I enjoyed initially; unfortunately we had a lot of suicide patients on my ward and other patients with mental health problems which triggered my depression and urge to hurt myself again. I told a friend about it, and he took me to my GP surgery. Whilst there, she looked at me like I was insane and just gave me a questionnaire to do at home – and told me to come back in two weeks. We did the questionnaire immediately in the car park. I scored something like 19 out of 22 – anything over 15 is considered depressed, with 22 being near suicidal and in need of urgent help. Still, I refused to go back to the doctor. I eventually quit my job in the hospital as being around people who were also depressed was bringing me down and I was starting to feel suicidal again. Instead, I returned to college.

A few weeks after I started at college I got a new job in a nightclub and found that I actually started to enjoy working. College was going great, work was fun, I had a purpose and started to think about pursuing my dreams that had been put on the back burner when I failed my A levels. I still self-harmed, but now there was no reason for it other than I craved it. I started to be more secretive about my body and slowly came to terms with the idea that I’d never have a boyfriend or anyone who would want to be near me in a relationship. The year past largely without incident, I got my head down and got into a university that I wanted to go to and made sure I did my work. In February the nightclub where I worked went into administration and in May I was given a job in a pub, working with some of the people I worked with in the nightclub which was great as I kept my friends. The worst thing in my life then was that my Dad was working away from May to September, however he was often away from home and whilst I was worried about him, it was not a massive trigger for me.

Around this time I started to get closer to one of the guys I worked with. We went out on a couple of dates and by June we were going out (albeit unofficially). I still self-harmed which causes many problems between us, as he had also suffered from depression as a teenager. On June the 22nd last year I found out one of my school friends had died suddenly. When I turned to him for comfort, he pushed me away and a couple of days later, he dumped me. I felt totally alone and lost, and unable to think clearly, drank a bottle of wine and downed two packets of pills in my first suicide attempt. Desperate and in pain, I phoned him for help and he took me to A+E and sat with me all night. My parents don’t know about that night, and I’ll never tell them. Whilst in hospital, I was given activated charcoal and spent the evening throwing up. In the morning before I was discharged the Crisis Team’s psychologist was sent to see me and I blagged to her that everything was ok, it was just a result of the break up and college stress and that  I was just a stupid teenager.

In July I went to my friend’s funeral, and made the decision to stay away from my ex as much as I could. I wasn’t coping very well and went back to the GP, where she put me on medication called Citalopram. Citalopram is an SSRI that’s not commonly used in under 18s as it can increase suicidal ideations and attempts. The initial low dosage didn’t help me at all, so it got doubled at the start of August. A week later, on a rainy day when my Mum was away, I experienced something I hope I never experience again. That morning, I woke up, and I knew that I wasn’t going to be alive the next day. I showered, got dressed into clean clothes, tidied my bedroom, tidied the house and then wrote my family a note. I told them that it wasn’t their fault, that they should forget about me and that they would be better off without me. I left out a few things like a necklace and a ring which I wanted my friends to have, and wrote them individual notes too thanking them for their friendship. I got a bottle of alcohol and raided the medicine cabinet for what I could find. Unsatisfied with what I had, I took my Dad’s migraine medication – all three months of it. I also took two kitchen knives with me. I took the pills and the alcohol and walked to a local park, where I downed as much of the pills as I could with the alcohol (even though I threw most of them up later on) and cut my wrists with the knives. Walkers passed me by and paid me no attention, all apart from one little black dog who kept licking my hands and face. His owner called him away rather than coming over to fetch him; which I’m glad for. I’m happy no-one saw me like that in that park.

Why am I still here? Well, I left a message on here saying what I intended to do. Somehow, this got relayed to one of my friends, and soon my best friends were informed. As I had turned my phone off, they tried to come round the house and when they got no answer, they phoned the police. Luckily, my next door neighbour has a house key otherwise I’d be paying for a new front door! When they found only suicide notes inside, they started to look for me in the town we live in. Eventually one of them found me, and I was taken to hospital. My family were called and my Dad was given leave to come home and be with me. In hospital I was put on a drip and given another psychological assessment. As it was so close to me going to university, I had to convince them that I was psychologically sound and that I wouldn’t attempt it again. Once they were happy, I was transferred to a ward to spend the next two days whilst the drip worked and they checked I hadn’t damaged my liver. The ward I was on? The old ward that I used to work on. I was recognised by the nurse who was looking after me. Whilst I was closer to 20 when I took the medication, it would appear that it caused the suicidal episode and so that medication has been written off for me completely!

In order to go to university, I promised my parents that I would get help, and that I would attend a depression day centre until I went. The centre was based around group therapy and helping patients to understand their minds and to resist self-harming/suicide/other bad actions. Whilst I found it hard to deal with, and not massively helpful, it occupied me and I did learn from it. When I got to university, I immediately talked to my new GP and we decided to go down the route of counselling (free with the university service). I went for a few weeks but overall found it more damaging than helpful and didn’t go after the third week. Over the next few months I cycled up and down, and during my biggest down period I met my current boyfriend. I was self-harming and drinking on my own, and he made me go back to the doctors and counselling. When I went back, I got put on Sertraline, another SSRI but one without the pesky little side effect of suicidal intent. It did, however, turn me into a zombie for the first week of taking it. After the teething problems were sorted, it seemed to work for a bit though. I went cold turkey off it in January (really, really dumb) and haven’t been on drugs since. They just don’t seem to work on me.

In March life threw me another curve ball. I found out I was pregnant. As I was throwing up twice every morning and slept for 16 hours a day, it wasn’t hard to figure out, but still came as a shock. We talked about it and whilst my boyfriend would have been happy to keep it, I decided that it was too much of a risk with my depression (especially as my mood had dropped dramatically in the last few weeks) and that neither of us were ready. The pregnancy was terminated late March and I’m still trying to get my head around it – I *should* be in my second trimester now. But if I had kept it, I would have had to give up my university course, my job, my boyfriend would’ve had to get a dead end job he hated to pay for us, we would be living totally different lives. I’m certain I’ll get married and have children in the future, I’m just not ready now. I still struggled with self-harm and drinking and in April my boyfriend laid down an ultimatum = make a serious attempt at stopping or he’d break up with me. So I threw away my blades and haven’t looked back.

It’s been 2 months, I think, since I last self-harmed and the scars are still bright red and raised. I can’t go swimming because they’re all over my legs and arms and look awful. I can’t wear pretty dresses and I can’t even wear a strap top in my own home. Mood wise, since finishing first year of university and moving back home, I’ve become happier and more complacent. For now, everything is going ok. I still have my own demons to deal with and I’m certain they’ll raise their ugly heads in the future but for now, I’m happy. I still have bad days, I find out soon whether I’ve passed first year or not because I didn’t do a lot of the work due to lack of motivation and concentration, but I’m loving where I am in life. I love my degree, I love my job, I love my boyfriend and my family.

Life sucks.

Fuck it. I'm not eating anything else any more and I don't give a shit about the consequences.

10 things

About me. Stolen shamelessly from danae's blog via Patience's blog.

10 rather uninteresting facts about me...
1) I've always wanted to spend my life helping people. I've toyed with the idea of being a nurse, a paramedic, a doctor (too boring, lol), a psychiatrist, a therapist. I've now settled on an eating disorders counsellor. Odd. I think my mental health though might be the only thing to stop me.
2) I'm originally from London, but I currently reside in Wales.
3) I love dairy. Like, seriously. I would die without it - it makes up far too much of my diet.
4) I get obsessed with things like sports or TV shows or books randomly for a month or two, then I drop them and spend a year not even bothering with them before going back again.
5) I can't draw to save my life but I love it and I wish I could.
6) A guy who can play an instrument is incredibly sexy. Especially if it's classical piano.
7) My favourite animals are horses and foxes. No, I don't support fox hunting.
8) I hate people touching my knees and my back. Argh. Makes me shiver to think of it!
9) I used to be a dancer, I gave it up for horse riding as my parents said I could get a horse on loan if I stopped (they couldn't afford both). The horse never appeared, and I lost the one thing I was fairly decent at.
10) I like writing lists, it's the best procrastination method ever!

Go on, if you haven't done it already, do it!

First post - goals, aims, dreams

For my first post I'm going to set out what I wish to a) achieve with this blog, b) achieve within myself in the short term and c) achieve within myself in the long term.
This blog
I want this blog to be somewhere I can record my thoughts, feelings, calorie intake, thinspo I love, anger, frustration, achievements and successes. I want to try and update at least three times a week. I don't want to influence others or encourage eating disorders. I don't want to have to force myself to update this. I don't want abuse or people telling me I'm wrong for thinking the way I do. I have a therapist for that. Occasionally I might ask for advice or for help on something; but generally it's going to be personal and rhetorical. Comment if you find something interesting, fancy debate or have something to share - but remember the adage of 'if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all'. We're all trying to get through this world with as few problems as possible after all.
I set this up on the 26th of October 2010. That's exactly 7 months before my 21st birthday.
Short term goals
I want to be 134lbs by Christmas. That's 2 months and 8 lbs. I currently weigh 142lbs after Freshers Week. I need to stop using that as an excuse and take the kick up the arse that I've needed all along. I want to do this by restricting, upping my exercise (currently I cheerlead twice a week. It's not incredibly strenuous) and doing fasts occasionally. I am under no illusions, it won't be fun, and it won't be pretty. But it'll sure as hell be worth it.
Long term goals
Honestly, I don't think I currently have a long term goal. I'd love, love, LOVE to be under 9 stone (that's 126lbs), closer to 8. I want to be a size 10. I want to fit into itty bitty dresses and shorts and look good. And I want a gap between my thighs when I sit down/stand up/walk. I hate that! I want to look fit and healthy as well as thin, which is why exercise is a huge part of my plan.
And some day... some day, I want to be happy.
